Case Consultation

Case consultation is a space for you to be able to share cases or work-related issues you feel “stuck” on, and I’ll be there to offer clinical insight or alternative perspectives. Subjects that frequently come up in consultation include diagnostic uncertainty, ethical/risk-management considerations, treatment planning, client-clinician dynamics, and countertransference.

Regular consultation also provides a container for processing vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and the weight of holding difficult client stories — things a therapist can't fully process alone.

What to Expect:

Guidance and Perspective

Think of this as a therapeutic space for your clinical identity. This is the place to address professional questions and concerns regarding topics like continuing education, administration, skillset and technique, and client dynamics, to name a few.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is this the same as supervision?

While the goals of the professional relationship are the same, I am not currently accepting students or pre-licensed clinicians for clinical supervision. Case consultation does not count toward supervised licensure hours, nor do I sign off on your sessions or notes as a supervisor. This offering is intended for newly-licensed clinicians who are looking for mentorship and insight into their existing caseload and clinical practice.

Can I have therapy and clinical consultation with the same clinician?

I strongly encourage clients to receive consultation and individual therapy from separate sources.
